Company Overview: Waste Management utilizes heavy landfill compactors and high-density stationary baling machinery to optimize waste volume reduction and maintain sustainable landfill containment density.
Position Summary & Responsibilities: Operating heavy high-density landfill compactors or stationary transfer station compactors, you manage daily waste volume compaction and site grading. In landfill settings, you maneuver heavy spiked steel-wheel compactors over active working faces to crush, spread, and compact municipal waste to required density levels. In transfer facilities, you operate hydraulic ram controls to compact solid waste into high-capacity transport trailers. You conduct daily pre-shift machinery safety checks, monitor hydraulic pressures, and maintain safe operating distances around haul trucks. This role is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence inside machine cabs or facility control stations.
Qualifications & Benefits: Must be at least 18 years old with 2+ years of experience operating heavy compactors, bulldozers, or heavy construction machinery. Knowledge of equipment safety and daily inspection protocols is required.
