Position Summary & Responsibilities
The Recycling Sorter performs critical manual material separation along high-speed conveyor lines within our indoor material recovery facilities. You inspect incoming single-stream recyclable materials, rapidly sorting paper, cardboard, plastics, aluminum, and glass into designated collection chutes while removing non-recyclable contaminants. You also assist with clearing belt jams, keeping work bays clean, maintaining plant sanitation, and adhering strictly to safety guidelines including mandatory personal protective equipment usage. This position is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence inside the processing plant (no remote work options exist).
Qualifications & Benefits
Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED preferred. Requires physical stamina to stand for extended periods, quick hand-eye coordination, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, and comfort working in high-velocity industrial processing environments.
