Role and Responsibilities:
As a Waste Management Garbage Collector, you will support daily residential and commercial waste collection operations by assisting drivers along assigned service routes.
• Collect and dispose of residential and commercial waste and recyclables along assigned route loops
• Ride on the back step or passenger cab of collection vehicles to support pickup operations
• Lift, load, and empty waste bins and heavy bags into collection truck hoppers safely
• Assist drivers with vehicle spotter duties, backing guidance, and route navigation
• Operate hydraulic packing controls when properly trained and authorized
• Maintain clean collection zones and ensure customer properties are left clear of debris
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear required protective gear at all times
Required Skills and Experience:
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions across all seasons
• Strong focus on personal and team safety procedures
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and strong work ethic
• Ability to start work early in the morning and work flexible shift schedules

• No prior experience required; full entry-level safety training provided upon hire
